Let Nature Be Your Guide: The Art and Practice of Forest Bathing
August 20-22, 2025 | Breitenbush Hot Springs
Do you feel disconnected from the natural world?
Have you wondered how you could transform the way you experience the outdoors? How to establish a deeper relationship with the forest, the parks, and even your home plants?
What if you let yourself fall in love with the more-than-human-world?
Immerse yourself in the restorative power of nature and rediscover your connection to the Earth through the transformative practice of Forest Bathing (Shinrin-Yoku). Rooted in ancient Japanese traditions and supported by modern research, Forest Bathing is a mindful, sensory-based way of being in nature that reduces stress, enhances well-being, and fosters a profound relationship with the living world around us.
Presented by a certified forest therapy guide, this retreat will introduce the foundational principles of Forest Bathing as an immersive experience and a lifelong practice. Whether you are new to mindful nature connection or an experienced outdoor enthusiast seeking a deeper relationship with the natural world, this workshop offers a gentle, accessible way to slow down, awaken the senses, and open your heart to the land.
(Note: Interest free payment plan available with deposit and monthly installment payments.)
A JOURNEY OF RENEWAL AND DISCOVERY
This workshop is designed for both seasoned nature lovers and those who long to deepen their connection with the Earth. Through a combination of guided forest therapy walks, sensory awareness exercises, and teachings on the core principles of Forest Bathing, participants will learn how to cultivate presence in nature, engage in mindful walking, and build a more intimate and reciprocal relationship with the land.
Drawing inspiration from Amos Clifford’s Your Guide to Forest Bathing, we will explore key concepts such as befriending nature, re-wilding the self, and deepening our connection to the More-Than-Human World. You will leave with practical tools to guide yourself in Forest Bathing and integrate this healing practice into your daily life—whether in a forest, a park, or your own backyard.
THE LAND AS TEACHER AND GUIDE
Nestled in the ancient forests of the Oregon Cascades, Breitenbush Hot Springs offers the perfect setting for this transformative experience. We will honor the land’s wisdom and acknowledge the Indigenous peoples who have stewarded it for generations. As we walk its sacred grounds, we will open our hearts to the land, listening deeply to the voices of the trees, the rivers, and the wind.
Forest Bathing is not just about being in nature—it is about building a relationship with it. This relational practice fosters a deep sense of belonging, appreciation, and respect for the Earth, reminding us that we are not separate from the natural world but an integral part of it.
