Elizabeth Ruff

I have long devoted my life to reminding those around me of the healing powers of breath and movement. A lover of the natural world, I was a backcountry ranger, glacier guide and heli-hiking guide in the far corner of Alaska. I used my body hard climbing & trekking around the world, and always had yoga as a tool to keep me healthy and fit.

It was after the death of my mother that I dove into the medicine of yoga to help heal my emotions and balance my grieving mind. I taught my first yoga class in 2002 and have since completed three different 200 hr trainings, multiple 50-100hr immersions, a 500 hr training with Tias Little & Yogarupa Rod Stryker and advanced tantric meditation training with Tracee Stanley.

As a yoga teacher & mentor, I have led teacher training since 2014, specializing in fascial anatomy, functional movement and the braiding dance of Tantra and Ayurveda.  For 22 years, I have been a massage therapist and have advanced training as a Soma Structural Integration bodyworker. The interweave of practical science, esoteric practices, somatic emotional release, and the natural world serve as the building blocks for who I am and how I approach the art & science of teaching yoga.
