Yasmeen Hossain, PhD
Yasmeen is a trauma-informed practitioner, educator, tree whisperer, and guide working at the intersection of mental health and the natural world. For more than two decades, she has woven together ecological understanding, nervous system science, somatic approaches, and the intuitive arts to support the wellbeing of both people and planet.
Her relationship with nature began in early childhood — running through tall wildflower meadows and letting cold streams carry away her worries — shaping her belief that human resilience and the resilience of the earth are inseparable. Over the years, she has trained in trauma prevention and recovery, meditation, and healing arts facilitation. With advanced degrees in environmental science, including climate resilience and adaptation, she currently works in environmental education leadership — teaching teachers and supporting communities navigating trauma, stress, and climate-related anxiety.
Descending from a lineage of palm readers, astrologers, and herbalists, Yasmeen bridges academic training with intuitive ways of knowing, listening closely to the wisdom of the body and the natural world. As a woman of color and daughter of a refugee, she is deeply committed to cultivating inclusive, trauma-informed spaces where everyone feels welcome.
